Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool asks for your gender, birth date, general health status, tobacco use, the coverage amount you want, and the term length. Those six pieces of information are all that is needed to return rates from the carriers. Your name, address and detailed health information are only requested if you decide to move forward with an application.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
The prices shown are what each carrier quotes for the health category you selected. The actual premium you pay is set by the carrier after they review your application, which may confirm, improve or change your assigned category. All quotes on this site are estimates for information purposes only and are not a guarantee of any particular price.
What happens when I click Apply?
You select a carrier from the results and click Apply. Your name and answers are used to prefill a secure online form run by the carriers' application system. You can stop and resume anytime. When complete, you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles the application on behalf of the carriers.
Will I need a medical exam?
That depends on the carrier you choose, the amount of coverage, and your answers on the application. Many carriers now offer expedited underwriting for applicants within certain age and amount limits, meaning they can decide without requiring a physical exam. Every quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that product.
Is a longer term better?
A term should match the years when your household would struggle most if you were not here: a mortgage, children at home, a business obligation or other debt. Longer terms lock in a level rate for more years, but they cost more each month. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 year options side by side to find what works for your situation.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote tool does not ask for or store contact information. We do not sell or share visitor data with any third party, and all measurement on this site is completely cookieless. Visit the privacy page for a complete accounting of what information is collected and how it is used.
